Christmas Minis!!

These are the things my hubby bought me:

A half scale Victorian mansion dollhouse kit. It is a laser cut and tab/slot assembly. I like the kit, but it is not going together as smoothly as I had hoped. (more pics below)
This kit that will be a bachelor man pad

Love these ACME fridge magnets. Perfect for half scale houses. Hard to find, so he bought  me 3.
Will need one more house for the last fridge!

This flooring for the Victorianna kitchen

These came as a lot off of ebay. I was watching them and was bummed because someone bought them. Didn't realize it was my husband!

A little bag and brush set

A PINK x-acto knife (and blades)

Tape and glue

LOTS of channel molding, base boards and crown molding.

2 sets of tiles for my Easter scene. Should have extra to use in Koda's bungalow too.

A leg lamp!!!

Dakoda picked out this little doll for me (for the Smurf)

and the Smurf car!

My mother-n-law bought me this Lee's Line crib and dresser and a gift card to Happily Ever After.

My friend Lee made this perfect little shadow/room box. At first I was stumped for ideas, but she gave me suggestions. I am going to order a cheese and wine set to sit on the barrel. Maybe a mouse trap in the right hand corner. Some wine bottles to sit in the nook. I was thinking maybe making a shelf for wine glasses to hang upside down up the bottles. I need to think that one over. Cool posters, grapes hanging...

My friend Julie sent me this Lee's Line half scale chair (that was safely wrapped in MULTIPLE boxes, a half scale pie...

and a bottle of wine. Needed that after opening all those boxes!

I did get some mini work accomplished.
Sprayed my kitchen counter for the Victorianna

Plus papered the floor with my new paper and set up my kitchen.

So this is the start of the Victorian mansion.
After looking at it closely, I saw that 2 of the walls were slightly taller than the others. That is why my ceiling/second didnt fit so well. Easy enough fix with a box cutter. Currently the second floor is back off (unlike the photo). It will be easier to decorate with more of the open space. I believe this is what Brae did when she built her Newport.
The troubles would not have stopped me from buying the kit, nor keep me from buying from them again.

Love the details!

Lots of pieces that are clearly labeled.

Trying to hold down the left side now

After all that work - I decided my new Bespaq kitchen would not fit well in the space provided. Time to add on before we even begin!

Just extended the floor on the right so it is a straight wall and not as much of a bay.

Will have to make a new wall on the right exterior.

There will be a small space behind the kitchen that won't be easily accessible. Not sure what to put there yet. Suggestions?

My kids this morning.

Their 'big' present - little Luna.

Show and Tell

Now, I don't know if I have mentioned this before, but my favorite place in the world to shop is

I ordered a lot of things for my holiday corner unit.
My Patriotic basket, paper plates and napkin holder for the 4th of July scene.
Last year I bought a blue napkin holder for my Dad's place. It is such a cute piece, I had to have another one for my picnic table.
The crow is perfect for the Halloween tree.
The Easter Egg Coloring Set will sit on the kitchen counter of the Easter scene.
I am sure you can figure out on your own where the Turkey Dinner Platter will go!
The glasses will sit on the Thanksgiving dinner table.

The Glenwood has been neglected, but not forgotten! The Popcorn Popper I got for Clayton's room. He wants a real life one for Christmas - but I don't think that is going to happen. He can have the miniature one. Not as likely to be a fire hazard!
This perfect little Sand Castle will go in the sandbox - of course.
I am not sure where my fish will go. We already have the gold fish, but they are so cute I had to get both!

The Clock will fit perfectly in the pool table room.

Ordered a lot of half scale flour, sugar, wine, chips, socket set and diapers.

I love my little Lee's Line half scale dresser!

Look at the difference in scale between the 1:12 and 1:24!
Adorable

Last but not least from Happily Ever After
a canopy bed for my girls room

This week I also sold my San Fran and made a new friend. Most mini people are wonderful. (most, not all)

With the sale of the house I made my first half scale purchases with sdk miniatures.

The bunk bed for the train room.

The plant to cover up some glue error at the base of the steps.

What I am most impressed with though is the Kitchen Kit.

What I expected to receive was a bag of laser cut wood and a picture with difficult to follow instructions. Isn't that how most things are?

What I received was 7 pages of colored instructions, some of the paper to go on the cupboards and even half scale printies of food!

On Craig's list I found a gal that was selling a ton of her mothers miniatures. The only things that really caught my attention were these Adirondack chairs for $5

and this beautiful wicker set for $15!! It is wicker - not resin!
Besided the stench of cigarette smoke - these are some great pieces that will sit on my porch to air out!

Something Smells Spoiled!!

That smell? Well, that would be me.

When I got home from work yesterday - there were 2 boxes waiting for me. I had to open this one first, as it was from Lee. First - she sent a couple things for Koda. Koda loves monkeys and she was excited to get these.

Next was all m stash. One paper was different - that was from Julie

As a kid had had a Chinchilla - her name was Misery (named after the Stephen King book of course). I had mentioned to Julie and Lee a couple months ago that I would love to have something like that for the Glenwood. I forgot I mentioned it, but I am glad she remembered!! Once I place Misery in her new home, I will take some better pictures. Like a Gremlin - she really never liked the bright light.

I have been trying to find a bowl of mashed potatoes for my Thanksgiving Dinner scene, but have not found any I liked. Lee sent me this dish.
It is a perfect fit on the buffet (poor picture here) but the gold bowl does not match the rest of the setting. I am sure I can easily change that!
Also I had recently found some real glasses for the table. The plastic glassware is OK, but with this display in my foyer, I want something nice.

Perfect for the Glenwood and the Halloween scene. For the Trick or Treat bag I was thinking maybe it could be thrown in the yard of the Witches house - as is she scared a young trick and treater...we'll see.

Now this just amazes me! A half scale colander and kitten! I can't believe how small they are! Seeing these little guys gets me motivated to get moving on the half scale Victorianna.

This is Roku, my dog. Yes, another gift from Lee. Now as I sit here and look at my dog, I wonder if Lee took the time to paint Roku's chest white to mimic my dog, or if that is how she is made. This dog is to be posed shaking hands, but I also could see him sitting at the bottom of a step wanting to walk up them, or maybe better yet, with that paw in a tipped over trash can!

Yum! Kahlua and a good book! My friend knows me well!

She knows me well enough that I should probably put the drink and book down and go do some laundry and clean my windows!!

This is the box that Koda and I ordered from Happily Ever After. Various game boxes that we each wanted plus a bag of Jelly Beans for my Easter room scene.

Now where did that Koda go??
Oh, yes - bundled up in her coat and hat - but no shoes out on the swing.

The house phone appears to be glued to her ear again.
We should probably have that looked at!

Maybe if I can get some work done today on the Victorianna I will be able to share pictures tomorrow!
