Chantilly Bathroom

Miss Chantilly is coming along! The bathroom is pretty much finished.

I wallpapered  the inside wall and glued the toilet in before I attached the wall.

One of my favorite blogs that I follow is Brae's. A recent post showed how she used paper for curtains. Instead of trying to find material to match, I used some extra paper from my bathroom walls to make a shower curtain.

The bed that I was going to use didn't fit with the look I was going for. I took the bedding off and put it on a smaller framed bed.

A wicker shelf was added that will hold towels and misc girly things.

Still looking for half scale girly items to stuff the shelf with.

Started my flooring for the Easter room.

Using drywall mud as grout.

We have new living room furniture in my real life house. My holiday display needed to be moved back to the mini room. Yes - it is a huge mess again. I am sorting through a lot of my full scale items to share with some friends and organizing my half scale things.

I also have the paper to redo my Grandma's kitchen. Using the same tiles that I have for the Easter scene for the kitchen floor. Was going to lay them all diagonally, but halfway into laying them, I learned that the tiles were not the same size. My grout lines would not match up. They all had to be pulled back up and laid in manner that won't be as noticeable of the size inconsistency.

Brushed away extra grounds to see spots that were missed.

Still plan on doing something different with her roof and need to shingle the bungalow

Stated to put together my half scale kitchen

Went to the 3 Blind Mice miniature show in Toledo Ohio.

I am glad this was not my first show - was not to impressed.

I did pick up this lot for $15. I was only going to get the picture for the frame, but the lady offered me all her half scale for one price.

I found the blue Lee's Line half scale chair I was interested in. That morning I had emailed the owner of Happily Ever After to see if she could get the couch and chair. Now I just need the couch!

Choo Choo!!

A while back I purchased a set of full scale wallpaper that was 40% off. Trains, tracks and stripes. When I bought it, I didn't know what my plans were, but for the price I did not want to pass it up. If I couldn't use it, I could share with my friends.

The top border had 3 rows of trains going across. I thought it was too big for full scale, let alone half.

I cut the trains into individual rows to make the twin boys border.

I didn't get a picture of the stripes before I started cutting. The whole page was stripes alternating with the track. I took a section to use as the bottom half of the room with the train track as a border.

I took the part of the railing out to make into a half wall. This way I won't have to make the railing, or buy more materials.

False wall like I did in the Glenwood's living room. For the half scale I used balsa instead of foam board. To finish off the top I wrapped some wood with the track.

Like Keli , I did not like how shallow my sink is. I put some of the fake water in the bottom...

and filled it with tiny nail beads Dakoda and I found at the dollar store.

I cut a dish in half to make give it depth.

It looks OK - but I like Keli's better. I am going to start remove what I have and use a colored plate. Instead of using the thick water, I will use the liquid.

Trial and error. I know it can look better.
