In Limbo

I have hardly worked on my minis at all over the past few weeks. To move forward on any of my projects I seem to be in need of something like paint, wallpaper or larger pieces to the plan layouts.

A couple weeks ago I did manage to brick the third level of Leon's house. Each brick needs to be painted, but guess what? I don't have any paint! At least that is a simple/cheap fix!

I  ended up removing all the tile that was on the front porches. It seemed to busy against the brick.
Instead I removed my kitchen that was placed in and laid the tile in the kitchen.

eBay had a more era appropriate stove. I am going to have to spray it all white to hide the glue stains.

On Friday I took my son Carter and his friend to St. Ignace in Michigan's upper peninsula for a wrestling meet on Saturday.

We went to Castle Rock and saw Paul Bunyan and Babe.

I love this pic with the seagull in the foreground its shadow on the boardwalk. Koda, Roman (friend) and Carter are heading to the lighthouse.

My sweet little Carter at the meet. Sure looks like he is about to punch this kid, but he didn't.
Carter and his friend both placed second! But more importantly the kids had fun.

Maybe in a couple weeks I will have progress on the minis

  1. Way to go, Carter!

I have been in the same place in mini~land. I needed wallpaper and paint, as well as needing to figure out what to do with the floors and whether or not to be brave and attempt wiring. Stalled in my tracks. After getting wallpaper, I feel ready to move again.

I love that part of Michigan! Looks like you had a great time. :-)

  3. The houses aren't going anywhere, they'll still be there in the fall, after you've enjoyed the summer with your kids.

Good call on the tile, it looks much better in the kitchen than on the porch.

One of these days you're going to get a truck sized box from UPS, but all it's going to have in it is a handful of minis, a roll of wallpaper, and a month's worth of crumpled up newspapers. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a small box long enough to fit a roll of wallpaper? I've brought six home from work so far, that have been just a bit too short.

  4. Que bonitas fotos, tu casita quedará genial, solo es cuestión de encontrar el tiempo que necesitan las minis. Felicidades a tu hijo por el segundo puesto...aunque como tu dices, lo importante es que se haya divertido. Besitos
