After admiring pictures of Tracy's McKinley, I really wanted to try the same thing to the roof.

Added a piece at the back to be able to create a flat roof and a more useable 3rd floor space.
Because of how I am working my layout, I didnt want to secure the entire back of the house on.
I carefully cut the 2 lower levels of the back piece away from the top level and glued the back piece of the attic in.

I am adding stairs to the 3rd floor The stairs will be visable through the door of the bathroom and through part of the hallway. Behind the back bathroom wall there will be another door leading to the mansard style addition I will make.

ReplyDeleteYes, some of these houses definitely more space and "expanding" the attic or adding one from scratch, is a good way to go! --And we don't have to make a bigger footprint since many times there is no room to do this.
I like the way you are fixing your attic.
