While reading one of my favorite blogs I saw that there is a Undersized Urbanite Dollhouse Contest over at Little Victorian. I have seen many contest in the past, but have never participated as I didn't feel I could compete with some of the great miniaturist out there.
This contest is different - I can build or rehab what I have without purchasing another kit. I had already planned on rehabbing my half scale Chantilly - I figured why not play along? If anything - this is just giving me a deadline to actually finish a house that I wanted to work on anyway. Something I have never done before.
This is my Chantilly before I started the rehab. She has been hiding in the closet for over a year. Something just wasn't right about this house. The exterior is adorable, but the inside...
The third floor attic space really bothered me. I am not very organized on planning things out - I tend to just take things apart and see what happens. All I knew was that third floor had to go and start an entire remodel.
The floor has been removed and the roof dry fitted to see what I have to work with.
I think this is much better.
Don't forget to sign up for my Giveaway on December 10th!
seguro que esa remodelacion quedara fantastica , estoy desenado ver los progresos

ReplyDeleteHi Audra, I am very new to dabbling with minis and while I drool at blogs like Otterine.com I know I am not in that league, but I too am participating, for motivation and networking and inspiration from those in that upper echelon. Looking forward to learning from everyone!
ReplyDeleteGood luck in the contest!

I'm glad to see that someone else I "know" from the blogging(/Greenleaf) community will be participating! I am planning to jump in once I get my crazy move over with. ;)
